What is a Pre-Twinkle Class?

In Suzuki method, the very first piece in book 1 for every instrument is the “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star Variations” arranged by Dr. Schinichi Suzuki. This set of variations is a lot of fun to play and teaches students various important technique. However, It can be difficult and frustrating for children with zero previous music training to immediately jump into twinkle variations. That is why we have pre-twinkle classes.

In a pre-twinkle class, we focus on developing foundational musicianship skills, including listening, coordination, and basic skill for playing piano/violin in a warm, happy, and encouraging environment. Parents are also actively involved in these classes so they can be the best support for their children’s musical development at home.
